Human Rights Law Centre’s 2017 Annual Report
2017 was a momentous year for human rights in Australia.
We had incredible highs and devastating lows.
We watched the nation explode into celebration when marriage equality finally became a reality after a long and hard fought campaign for LGBTI rights.
We saw the shocking revelations of abuse in youth detention lead to a roadmap for change through the Northern Territory Royal Commission into children in detention.
And we witnessed the humanitarian crisis of offshore detention continue to unravel before our eyes, with around 2,000 people including 160 children still trapped on Manus and Nauru.
Your support propelled the Human Rights Law Centre to the forefront of some big wins for human rights this year. You can read more about what we achieved together in our 2017 annual report.
