Law on Toast? Win breakfast with Benjamin Law
Standing up for human rights is serious business, but here at the Human Right Law Centre we also enjoy a laugh and hope you do too.
We’re delighted to announce that to support our Human Rights Week Challenge, author and funny man Benjamin Law – whose TV show The Family Law premieres in January – has kindly offered to have breakfast in either Melbourne or Sydney with one of our lucky donors.
Everyone who has already had their donation doubled, will go into the draw to win this prize.

The winner can bring a friend and choose their favorite HRLC staff member to also attend (and in doing so, spark a bitter but fun office feud).
Terms and conditions:
Competition opens 7/12/2015 and ends at midnight 13/12/2015
2. Each donating person (individual) to the Human Rights Law Centre (HRLC) will be entered into the ‘Law on Toast’ Promotion (‘the promotion’).
3. Entry is:
a. gained via the successful donation to the Human Rights Law Centre via the online donation form located at http://www.hrlc.org.au/donate between 9.00am AEDT and 11.59pm AEDT on Thursday 10 December 2015.
b. ‘Successful donation’ is defined as completing all fields required by the web form followed by confirmation through digital submission. This is the sole method of entry;
c. limited to one entry per donation;
d. not open to employees of the HRLC; and
e. not open to residents of countries outside of Australia.
Incorrectly completed entries will not be considered; and
f. the HRLC may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this competition by, any person who acts in violation of these terms and conditions or in any way in connection with this competition engages in misconduct. What constitutes misconduct being in the sole discretion of the HRLC; and
g. If for any reason this competition or any part thereof is not able to be conducted. The HRLC may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, if required.
4. Prizes:
a. Each entry goes into the draw to win breakfast with Benjamin Law. A staff member of the HRLC will also attend. The breakfast will take place in Melbourne or Sydney at a date and location to be agreed upon by the winner and Benjamin Law. The cost of the breakfast will be covered up to the value of $160AUD. The breakfast will be attended by no more than two people, plus Benjamin Law and a HRLC staff member.
b. the prize is not exchangeable for cash
c. the winners transportation costs will be paid for by the winner.
5. Draw:
a. The winner will be drawn from the email addresses of entrants who successfully donated via the web form.
b. The draw will be conducted at the offices of the HRLC, Level 17, 461 Bourke Street Melbourne VIC 3000 at 10.00am AEDT on Tuesday 15 December 2015 (15/12/2015). The draw will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into;
c. The Winner will be advised personally via email and have their first name and state/territory of residence promoted through emails the HRLC’s subscribers and on social media;
d. The winner has 90 days from the date of notification in item c. above to claim their prize by return email or phoning HRLC on 03 8636 4450; and
e. Should the winner not claim their prize in accordance with item d. above; the relevant prizes shall be deemed unclaimed and forfeit. Such forfeited prizes or their equivalent monetary value will be retained by HRLC for future promotional use.
6. PRIVACY and CONSENT to use of your personal information:
a. By entering the competition the entrants and winner CONSENT to:
i. having the winner’s first name and state/territory of residence published in such promotional activity and materials as HRLC may require;
ii. HRLC using supplied email addresses and other personal information provided for promotional purposes. When entrants supply HRLC with personal information such as names and addresses, HRLC records it on the HRLC database and may use it to contact you in the future;
b. Email addresses of entrants will not be provided to any person or organisation outside HRLC;
c. Each time HRLC sends entrants direct marketing communication HRLC will provide the entrant with a simple way to ‘opt out’ of receiving similar communications in the future. Entrants may also inform HRLC that they do not wish to receive any further communications or change any personal information HRLC may have on record by contacting the HRLC Fundraising Coordinator, Rachael Hambleton by email at rachael.hambleton@hrlc.org.au or by phoning 03 8636 4450; and
d. Privacy Statement – Any Personal Information you provide is private, confidential and will be treated according to any applicable law. Such Personal Information will only be used for the purposes specified in these terms and conditions. You have a right to access your personal information held by HRLC. You can also request amendment to that information if you believe that it is incorrect. Your involvement is voluntary and you are free to withdraw consent at any time.
