When our democracy works, the best interests of people, the planet and future generations are at the heart of government decision-making. But right now Australia’s democracy isn’t working as it should. 

Big industries like fossil fuels and gambling are unfairly distorting democratic processes to win outcomes that put their profits ahead of our wellbeing. 

The impact of corporate influence in our politics is deeply felt by the families torn apart by gambling addiction, and the communities who have lost their entire towns in bushfires fuelled by climate change.

  • stamp out corruption with strong laws for accountability, overseen by an integrity watchdog with teeth; 

  • end the relationship of cash for access, so harmful industries can’t give big donations to politicians in exchange for secret meetings and political favours; and
