Madeleine graduated with a Bachelor of Development Studies and a Bachelor of Law with honours from the University of Newcastle.
Madeleine has volunteered with Greenpeace Australia Pacific and the Environmental Defenders Office, working on litigation and advocacy on the impacts of climate change and environmental damage on First Nations and Pacific communities. Her honours research studied the United Nations funding towards adaptation project in Pacific small-island developing states to highlight the gaps in funding for non-economic cultural loss and damage. She brings her experience in the environmental sector and interest in the relationship between environment and human rights to the Whistleblower Project to further the Project’s climate and environmental whistleblowing work.
