Thomas Feng (he/him) joined in November 2022 as the Media and Communications Manager, and since May 2024 has been Director of Engagement at the Human Rights Law Centre.
Thomas has extensive communications, strategy, media and community engagement experience across the non-for-profit, for-purpose and higher education sectors, with a focus on translating complex issues into compelling campaigns, particularly to improve diverse and marginalised communities.
Prior to the Human Rights Law Centre, Thomas led high-performing, creative teams at Youth Affairs Council Victoria and Road to Refuge, centring lived experience and using advocacy on a number of issues, including the reinstatement for a Federal Minister for Youth, more COVID-19 support for young people, raising the age of criminal responsibility, and building stronger social connection between people seeking asylum and communities.
Thomas also previously worked in digital communications, marketing strategy and brand at The University of Melbourne. Outside of the Human Rights Law Centre, Thomas is Co-Chair of Culture Spring, a social enterprise powered by the Centre for Multicultural Youth.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Melbourne, and was a 2021 Australian Progress Fellow and an inaugural 2023 William Ah Ket Leader.
